 How To Make Cent Sign On Microsoft Word

 How to make cent sign on Microsoft Word, was one of those puzzling questions many of my students have put to me. The most common answer trainers will give to their students is to goto the Insert menu and then choose symbols from the drop down menu.  Then from the Symbols dialog box, simply choose a Font that has currency symbols and then choose the Cent Symbol as shown below:

However, there is a better way. So How to make cent sign on Microsoft word, well its quite simple but the execution is a little tricky.  Quite simply, you can use your shortcuts to insert the cent sign. To do this use the following shortcut -

                                               [Alt] + [0162]

Remember the note on tricky ...

To use this shortcut, you will need to turn the Num Lock on, for your numeric keypad. First of all, hold the Alt key down and keep it held down. Do not lift it at any stage. Then simply press the key sequence, [0] key, then the [1] key, then the [6] key and then the [2] key. Now lift your finger off the [Alt] key.

What you should now see is a symbol that looks like this - ¢
